Why do I need PPE?

Chemicals can be dangerous! They are made from substances that can cause severe irritation when they come into contact with your eyes or skin, they cause respiratory problems when inhaled, and can cause severe adverse health problems when swallowed.

Because of this, it is vital that you ensure you are wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when using each chemical!

At O'Kelly we take safety seriously. Through our experience in the industry, we have noticed that sometimes the safety measures that need to be taken around chemicals can get a bit overwhelming. Therefore, we have made it our mission to make the proper use of chemicals easy to understand.

We have included all PPE information on our labelling, and each avatar is wearing correct PPE to ensure you know what to wear and how to keep yourself and your employees safe when using the chemicals.

First Aid information is listed with the PPE symbols, so that if an accident happen you will know exactly what to do.

From the example below we can see from the Ada Auto Dish Machine Liquid requires Eye Protection, Face protection, Gloves and Protective Clothing to be used while using this chemical. Ada is clearly wearing all her PPE, and the PPE icons and First Aid information are on the product label!

Every product that requires PPE will have it listed on the label, alongside the first aid information.
